Thanks to our newest baker, Erika, we are expanding our horizons with Jewish baked goods! Here at Jungle Jim’s we always strive to bring in different varieties of products from different cultures. It is always an honor to bring in items that have histories and meanings behind them.

First off, we now carry freshly made Rugelach from scratch. Rugelach is a twisted cookie made from a cream cheese pastry dough. The flavors we currently carry are cinnamon raisin, apricot almond and raspberry chocolate chip.

We have also tossed out our old Challah recipe and replaced it with a traditional Jewish recipe. If you were a fan of our old Challah, you should try our new recipe! If you have never had Challah, it is a braded egg bread with a sweeter flavor.

The Challah “commemorates the manna that fell from the heavens when the Israelites wandered in the desert for forty years after the Exodus from Egypt.” (en.wikipedia.org) It was from these hunks of bread that gave the Challah it’s braided style. So not only does this bread have a history, it is delicious!
