We've got wine, seafoof, produce...but no meat, so I guess I'll post it here.

I was hoping someone might be able to tell me the ballpark price for a whole beef tenderloin. I've seen them in the case, and I could have sworn I saw one for about $70, but that was quite some time ago and I could be way off.

Also, does anyone know if those are trimmed, and what they weigh? Looked very large, maybe about 15 pounds, but again, I could be way off.

Any help appreciated!

No cheese formum? I am very impressed with the cheese shop. So much in fact, I don't know where to start shopping. About six weeks ago, I was in the cheese dept. and sampled a wonderful semi soft imported cheese that tasted like half cheese and half butter. When I went over to buy some, you were out of it. This was 10:30 a.m.! Whatever it was, you need to buy a truckload if it sells that fast. I would like to see a cheese forum added. Maybe, you could have a featured "cheese of the week" on the "Cheese Forum". Also, little signs describing each cheese's flavor/attributes in the case with it would be helpful.

Jungle Jim's sells whole beef tenderloins for $11.99lb and they weigh about 6 to 7 pounds each. We trim them for no extra charge.

Thanks for the suggestion. We now have a "Meat Shoppe" forum.

Looks like I was way off on the weight.

Looking on-line it seems most people are saying a whole tenderloin weighs between 4 to 8 pounds.
