My wife and I are making our first trek to Jungle Jims this Saturday. I've heard alot about it and am anxious to take it all in first hand. I'm a low carber, do they have good stuff? What's their beer section like, how bout the seafood? Just I guess, what should I not miss on my first visit. We live in Indy so we wont be able to make it down every week but I just want to know more more and more about this place. I've heard amazing things!!

Happy shopping! I remeber my first trip from Dayton OH. I now live in Columbus and still travel there a few times a year.

One more thing.

In the Jungle Jim's wikipedia entry, at the bottom, there is a link to flikr.com. This has a lot of photos taken in the store.

You will find more unusual food items than you ever heard of!

My advice:
Saturdays can get a bit crowded. Plan on spending a little time to get through the store.

When you go in the main entrance, look for a map of the store. they should be near the current weekly ads. The map WILL come in handy.

I never looked for lo-carb items, but they are there.

The beer selection is large! (My favorite dept...)

Go back to the cooking equipment section. Lots of great gadgets, cookware, etc.

Seafood is another section I don't normally visit, but it is pretty big.

On Saturday, some depts have samples. I like the cheese dept for this.

And take a look at the Wikipedia for "Jungle Jim's International Market". there's a short blurb on the store online.

Enjoy !
